TNI addresses large-scale troop deployment to Jakarta
The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has responded to reports regarding the deployment of a large number of personnel to Jakarta. Major General Muhammad Nas, Head of the TNI Information Center, stated that the movement of troops is part of routine military duties aimed at maintaining stability and the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia.
Brigadier General Donny Pramono, Head of the Army Information Service, added that the deployment is intended to maintain regional security and national sovereignty in accordance with existing laws. While officials emphasized that the military remains in a state of readiness to respond to developing situations, they declined to provide specific details regarding the exact number of personnel involved or the specific operational mission behind the mobilization.
Public speculation has linked the movement to potential upcoming demonstrations. Additionally, unconfirmed reports circulated regarding a plan to deploy 20,980 personnel in four stages, though the TNI has not officially confirmed the details of these specific documents.
