TNI advances bridge construction projects in Nias and Sulawesi

The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) is advancing infrastructure projects through the Bakti TNI program to support President Prabowo Subianto’s initiative for equitable regional development.

In Nias, the construction of the 30-meter modular bridge over the Yo’o River has reached 48 percent completion. This project aims to provide safe passage for residents of Sihare’o III Village, who previously faced difficulties accessing schools, healthcare, and agricultural markets, particularly during heavy rainfall.

In South Sulawesi, Kodam XIV/Hasanuddin is continuing its pioneer bridge program. Major General TNI Bangun Nawoko recently inspected the Garuda Pioneer Bridge at the Lamagara River in Wajo Regency. This program has already resulted in the construction of 133 pioneer bridges within the command's jurisdiction to improve mobility for economic, educational, and social activities in remote areas.
