TNI celebrates 81st anniversary with military exhibitions and national runs
The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) is conducting a series of events to commemorate its 81st anniversary. A major component of the celebrations is the TNI Fair, held at the Monumen Nasional (Monas) in Jakarta, where the public can view various military defense assets (alutsista) and interact with personnel.
As part of the festivities, the TNI Run 2026 involved approximately 81,000 participants across Indonesia, setting four MURI records. Other activities include the Navy Fair, which showcases naval equipment, and various social services such as free healthcare, blood donations, and food distribution.
Panglima TNI General Agus Subiyanto emphasized the need for increased professionalism and adaptability to modern warfare. He encouraged young officers to evolve their doctrines and training to meet strategic environmental changes. The anniversary peak is scheduled for October 5, 2026, with President Prabowo Subianto expected to serve as the inspector of ceremonies for a parade involving 51,000 personnel.
