TNI military base construction in Gunungkidul awaits Sultan's approval

The construction of the Territorial Development Battalion (Yon TP) headquarters in Banyusoco, Playen, Gunungkidul, is currently pending permission to use Sultan Ground (SG) land. The project involves a planned 70-hectare site, and formal authorization from Sultan Hamengkubuwono X is required before development can proceed.

Approximately 400 TNI personnel have already been deployed to the area to support preparatory activities. These soldiers are currently stationed in temporary barracks consisting of 16 tents. In addition to supporting the initial stages, the personnel are expected to assist in the physical construction of the headquarters once permits are secured. Coordination efforts are ongoing to ensure the project follows all legal procedures regarding the utilization of Sultan Ground.
