TNT sweeps Magnolia to reach PBA semifinals

TNT Tropang 5G completed a three-game sweep of the top-seeded Magnolia Hotshots in the PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup quarterfinals, securing a spot in the semifinals with a 98-87 victory at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson led the win with 38 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. This performance comes during his return from a significant injury, having played only his fifth game since recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon. Other key contributors for TNT included Rey Nambatac, RR Pogoy, and Calvin Oftana.

Magnolia, which entered the playoffs as the top seed from Group B, struggled to overcome TNT’s defensive pressure. TNT forced 14 turnovers and controlled the paint, winning that category 44-26. Magnolia coach LA Tenorio noted that his team was outclassed by the defending champions. TNT now awaits the winner of the series between Barangay Ginebra and San Miguel Beer.
