Vietnam government finalizes 2027 holiday schedule and economic targets

The Vietnamese government has finalized the holiday schedule for 2027. Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra approved a 7-day break for the Lunar New Year (Tet Dinh Mui), running from February 4 to February 10, 2027. Additionally, the National Day holiday will span 4 days, from September 2 to September 5, 2027. For 2026, officials confirmed a one-day holiday for Vietnam Culture Day on November 24 without workday swaps.

In a separate regular government meeting, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung addressed the socio-economic situation for the third quarter of 2026. He emphasized the need for stronger solutions to achieve double-digit growth targets amidst global volatility, including Middle East conflicts affecting energy prices and shifting international monetary policies. The meeting also focused on public investment disbursement and national target programs.

Furthermore, the government issued Resolution 303/NQ-CP, setting social housing and rental housing targets for provinces through 2030, with significant quotas assigned to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
