To Lam calls for results-oriented personnel planning in Vietnam

To Lam, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President, has called for a more dynamic and results-oriented approach to personnel planning. During a meeting in Hanoi on August 26, he emphasized the need to link personnel work closely with training, evaluation, and the effective utilization of cadres.

To Lam stated that leadership evaluation should move beyond mere job titles. Instead, officials should be assessed based on their ability to resolve difficulties, overcome obstacles, build teams, prepare successors, and generate trust. He noted that being included in personnel planning does not constitute an automatic right to a specific appointment or candidacy.

The directive aims to ensure that the right individuals are identified and prepared for the appropriate tasks at the correct time to strengthen the Party's leadership for future development stages.
