Tobacco and electronic cigarette use linked to increased cancer and respiratory risks

Medical experts are warning about the significant health risks associated with tobacco products and electronic cigarettes. Research indicates that smoking increases the risk of breast cancer in women by approximately 10 to 25 percent compared to non-smokers. Tobacco use is also a primary factor in lung cancer, throat cancer, COPD, and cardiovascular diseases.

Specialists highlight that electronic cigarettes do not produce simple water vapor, but rather a chemical aerosol containing nicotine, nitrosamines, and various toxic compounds. Heating flavorings and sweeteners can create carcinogens such as formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and acrolein. These substances can lead to serious conditions including lung fluid accumulation, lung collapse, and heart attacks.

There are also concerns regarding illegal additives in some electronic cigarette products. Reports have identified the presence of anesthetics like etomidate and THC in certain cartridges, which can cause altered consciousness and loss of balance. Doctors advise that a cough lasting longer than three weeks should be treated as a serious warning sign.
