Tobago Carnival sees increased travel demand and celebrity interest
Tobago Carnival is experiencing a significant surge in activity, with approximately 60,000 guests expected for the festivities. To accommodate the influx of travelers, Caribbean Airlines has announced it will add an additional 1,000 seats to its domestic schedule, bringing the total number of extra seats provided to 8,000.
Zorisha Hackett, the Secretary of Tourism, Antiquities and Creative Industries, has advocated for increased flight frequency to support spontaneous travelers. She noted the need for more daily flights to manage both arrivals and the logistical challenge of transporting revelers back to other locations after the weekend.
Adding to the event's profile, Jamaican dancehall artist Spice has announced her first visit to the Tobago Carnival. The entertainer has engaged her followers on social media to help plan her itinerary, including recommendations for local dishes, events, and Carnival bands.
