Tobias Forge announces hiatus for Ghost
Tobias Forge has addressed the upcoming hiatus for the band Ghost, citing a lack of clear creative direction following the completion of the Skeletour cycle. The tour supported the band’s 2025 album, ‘Skeletá’.
Forge explained that after more than a decade of constant momentum, he currently lacks the inspiration to immediately begin a new album cycle. He noted that he does not want to force a creative process or carry the responsibility of touring without a purposeful direction. He described the hiatus as a “normal hiatus” rather than a permanent breakup, comparing the end of the current cycle to the conclusion of a “big wedding.”
During this break, Forge intends to spend more time with his family and pursue other interests, including two film projects and a separate musical project. He emphasized that his previous work was driven by passion rather than contractual obligations and stated, “I need to want to make a record. I need to have something to say.”
