Tobias Korenke accepts AfD invitation following memorial protest

Tobias Korenke, the grand-nephew of anti-Nazi resistance fighters Dietrich and Klaus Bonhoeffer, has accepted an invitation from the AfD parliamentary group to engage in a discussion regarding the party's goals and program.

This decision follows a recent incident at a government memorial service in Berlin's Bendlerblock, where Korenke attempted to remove a wreath placed by the AfD. Korenke described the act as a spontaneous reaction to seeing the party's presence at the commemoration for resistance against the National Socialist regime.

Korenke stated that he intends to use the meeting to confront the AfD on its treatment of the legacy of Germany's two dictatorships and its perceived relativization of National Socialist crimes. He also plans to address the party's use of the term 'Schuldkult' (cult of guilt), which he characterized as a right-wing extremist term.
