TV presenter Tobias Krell participated in a 22-day smartphone ban experiment alongside approximately 100 children and adolescents at a school in Rheinland-Pfalz. The experiment, part of a three-part SWR documentary titled ‘Schule ohne Smartphone - Das Experiment mit Tobi Krell’, aimed to observe the effects of removing mobile devices on daily life, sleep, and concentration levels.
In an interview regarding the project, Krell expressed that instead of implementing social media bans, the focus should be on providing better education for youth. The documentary, directed by Antonia Simm, is scheduled to be available on the ARD Mediathek starting September 1, with the first part airing on Das Erste on September 7.
