Tobias van den Elshout rejects loan move to stay at Feyenoord

Feyenoord midfielder Tobias van den Elshout has expressed his desire to remain with the club despite a lack of playing time this season. Although he secured a starting position toward the end of last season, he has yet to feature under new manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Van den Elshout attributed his current situation to strong competition from scoring teammates and squad changes rather than the managerial transition. He noted that while he is versatile enough to play as a left winger, he is content to wait patiently for his opportunity.

Regarding the possibility of a loan move to gain more minutes, the player stated that it is ‘in principle not the intention’. He cited his connection to the club, the staff, and the fans, as well as the opportunity to compete for Champions League football, as primary reasons for wanting to stay in Rotterdam.
