Tocantins candidate Vicentinho Júnior discusses meat industry industrialization
Tocantins gubernatorial candidate Vicentinho Júnior met with representatives from the Sindicato das Indústrias Frigoríficas do Estado do Tocantins (Sindicarnes) to discuss strengthening the state's meat production chain.
Sindicarnes presented a proposal focused on industrializing livestock production within the state to increase competitiveness and value addition. The organization noted that while the state has the capacity to slaughter approximately 2.13 million animals annually across 13 slaughterhouses, much of this capacity remains idle. Key demands include improvements in logistics, tax policy revisions, and infrastructure investments.
Vicentinho's government plan includes the 'Proindústria Verde 4.0', which aims to reform incentives to encourage the processing of raw materials locally. He emphasized that industrializing within the state would generate more jobs, income, and tax revenue.
