Tocantins candidates pledge to complete key infrastructure projects
During political campaigning in Tocantins, candidates have pledged to complete stalled infrastructure projects in the state.
Gubernatorial candidate Laurez Moreira (PSD) committed to finishing the Arraias River Dam in partnership with President Lula. The project, which has been stalled for nearly two decades despite reaching 75% completion, is viewed as a strategic necessity to combat drought and improve water security for agriculture, irrigation, and fish farming in the southeast region.
Meanwhile, Senate candidate Vanderlei Luxemburgo (Podemos) pledged to allocate parliamentary funds to complete the General Hospital in Gurupi. Luxemburgo stated that his priority would be transforming resources into concrete results for the population, emphasizing the importance of structural works for regional development.
