Tocantins Electoral Court launches indigenous language videos
The Regional Electoral Court of Tocantins (TRE-TO) has launched a series of institutional videos designed to promote the sociopolitical inclusion of indigenous peoples. Part of the Permanent Program for the Sociopolitical Inclusion of Indigenous Peoples, the initiative aims to provide information regarding citizenship, political participation, and democracy while respecting the unique cultures and communication styles of various ethnic groups.
To produce the content, teams traveled through various regions of Tocantins, visiting the villages of the Xerente, Krahô, Apinajé, and Karajá peoples. The videos feature community representatives speaking in their native languages to ensure the messages are culturally appropriate and accessible. The project was a collaborative effort involving the court's communication and judicial schools, alongside state secretariats for education and indigenous peoples.
