The second-round race for the governorship of Tocantins is intensifying between Professora Dorinha (União Brasil) and Vicentinho Júnior (PSDB). Dorinha has secured significant political backing, including the formal support of presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro (PL). This alignment is bolstered by the União Progressista federation, which has officially endorsed Flávio Bolsonaro nationally, a move that consolidates the connection between Dorinha’s state campaign and the national PL platform.

Senator Eduardo Gomes (PL) has taken direct command of Dorinha’s campaign, focusing on mobilizing municipal bases and connecting the state race to the national presidential contest. The campaign has also received endorsements from re-elected state deputies Eduardo Fortes and Kátia Chaves.

Historically, Tocantins has seen the first-round leader win the second round in every previous instance. The upcoming vote on October 25 will determine if Dorinha can maintain her lead or if Vicentinho Júnior can achieve a turnaround.
