Tocantins maintains B+ Payment Capacity rating
The National Treasury Secretariat, linked to the Ministry of Finance, has maintained the B+ Payment Capacity (Capag) classification for the Executive Power of Tocantins. This assessment, detailed in Technical Note SEI nº 6166/2026/MF issued on August 28, analyzes the state's fiscal situation for the 2025 financial year.
The Capag rating is determined by three key indicators: indebtedness, current savings, and liquidity. In the latest evaluation, Tocantins maintained an 'A' rating for indebtedness at 30.79%, a 'B' for current savings with a ratio of 94.73%, and a 'B' for liquidity at 0.05%.
Classifications of A, A+, B, and B+ are considered eligible for Federal Union guarantees in credit operations, provided other legal requirements are met. The Capag scale ranges from A to D.
