Vice‑governor and pre‑candidate Laurez Moreira of Tocantins highlighted a sharp rise in femicide cases in the state—20 recorded in 2025, a 52.8% increase from 2024, with five more reported by July 2026, including the murder of nurse Morgana Vieira Monteiro in Palmas. He called for a cultural shift involving families, schools and public authorities, proposing permanent educational campaigns, school‑based gender‑violence programs, teacher training to spot domestic abuse, and expanded re‑education groups for perpetrators.

In a separate address, pre‑candidate Vicentinho echoed the data, noting a 63% jump in femicide reports between 2024 and 2025. He pledged that men indicted for domestic violence would be barred from senior government posts and outlined measures such as increasing security forces, expanding specialized assistance for women, investing in protective technology, and promoting women's professional and entrepreneurial opportunities to reduce vulnerability.
