Tochukwu Nnadi rejects knee surgery to speed up return

Marseille midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi has decided against immediate surgery for a knee injury sustained during a match against Monaco. Although medical staff recommended surgery as the safest option, the Nigerian international has opted for a conservative treatment protocol in an attempt to shorten his recovery time.

Nnadi’s agent, Timur Daguev, stated that the decision followed extensive discussions between the player, his entourage, the club, and doctors. Daguev noted that while surgery was the safest path, it would have kept the player away from the pitch for several months. The midfielder aims to remain involved with the team and return to action as quickly as possible.

The injury leaves coach Bruno Genesio with limited options in the midfield, particularly as the team faces a demanding schedule including Europa League fixtures. While the exact diagnosis has not been officially confirmed by the club, the decision to avoid surgery represents a significant gamble regarding the player's long-term availability.
