Today Show to broadcast live from Ireland in October

The NBC morning program ‘Today Show’ has announced it will broadcast a special live episode from Sheen Falls Lodge in County Kerry, Ireland, on October 16. The trip, sponsored by Tourism Ireland, marks the first time the long-running program will film outside of its New York City studio. The broadcast will feature the full hosting team, including Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin, Al Roker, Carson Daly, Dylan Dreyer, Jenna Bush Hager, and Sheinelle Jones.

The announcement coincided with personal reflections from Savannah Guthrie regarding her Irish heritage. Guthrie noted that her mother, Nancy Guthrie, had family roots in Galway. The mention comes amid an ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, who was reportedly abducted from her home in Tucson, Arizona, on February 1. Authorities and the FBI are involved in the active investigation.

Separately, NBC has reportedly implemented enhanced security protocols at Rockefeller Center following two recent incidents: the disappearance of Guthrie’s mother and a July security breach where an intruder entered an unauthorized area near the studio and confronted co-anchor Craig Melvin.
