Todd and Julie Chrisley face $1.5 million federal tax lien

Reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley are facing a new federal tax lien totaling $1,571,452. The Internal Revenue Service filed the claim in Davidson County, Tennessee, on August 19.

The lien consists of two unpaid assessments: $142,410.72 for the tax period ending December 31, 2021, and $1,429,041.89 for the period ending December 31, 2022. These assessments were dated December 5, 2022, and December 11, 2023, respectively.

The financial issue arises months after the couple received presidential pardons from Donald Trump in May 2025. The pardons ended their prison sentences for bank fraud and tax evasion, which involved the fraudulent acquisition of over $36 million in loans. While the pardons addressed their previous convictions, the new lien covers separate unpaid assessments that predate and postdate their incarceration.
