Todd Murphy signs with Melbourne Stars and targets India tour

Australian off-spinner Todd Murphy has signed a one-year deal with the Melbourne Stars for the upcoming Big Bash League season, moving from the Sydney Sixers. He joins a roster that includes Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis.

Separately, Murphy has been included in the Australia A squads for an upcoming tour of India in September and October. The tour features two four-day matches and three one-day games against India A in Puducherry. Murphy aims to use the tour to demonstrate his versatility across all international formats and gain essential experience in subcontinental conditions ahead of Australia's scheduled five-Test series in India next year.

In coaching news, Peter Siddle and Johan Botha have joined Cricket NSW as assistant coaches under Brad Haddin.
