Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde: The Woodies' doubles dominance

Australian tennis players Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde, known as ‘The Woodies’, were a dominant force in men's doubles throughout the 1990s. Since beginning their partnership in 1991, the duo secured eleven Grand Slam titles together, including a record-breaking six Wimbledon championships during the Open Era.

Their major achievements include winning the 1992 Australian Open and securing Olympic gold medals in Atlanta in 1996. By 2000, they had completed a career Grand Slam. Following the conclusion of their partnership after the 2000 season, Woodbridge continued to find success with partner Jonas Bjorkman, winning further titles at the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.

Both players have been inducted into the Australian Tennis Hall of Fame and the International Tennis Hall of Fame. While their professional relationship was marked by immense success, they have noted that they now lead different lives.
