Todi slashes waste tax by 9% and approves bonus for low‑income households

The municipal council of Todi announced a 9% cut to the local waste tax (TARI) for 2026, reducing the annual charge by about €376,000. Mayor Antonino Ruggiano highlighted the saving as a result of improved waste‑collection efficiency and said the reduction will directly lower bills for residents and businesses.

At the same time, the council approved a one‑time 25% bonus on the 2025 TARI for families with an ISEE below €9,500 (or below €20,000 for families with at least four children). The measure is expected to benefit roughly 1,000 households. However, new tariff tables for 2026 project an average increase of about 5% for domestic users and 4% for non‑domestic users, reflecting higher personnel, fuel and waste‑management costs. Payment deadlines were extended to 31 August, 30 October and 2 December.

The proposals await a final vote from the city council.
