Todor Deyanov nominated for Bulgaria's Supreme Judicial Council
Deputy appellate prosecutor of Plovdiv, Todor Deyanov, has been put forward by his fellow prosecutors as a candidate for the new Supreme Judicial Council (VSS) of Bulgaria. The nomination was posted on the VSS website under the "Procedure for electing members of the Supreme Judicial Council from prosecutors" and cites his personal and professional qualities observed during years of direct collaboration.
Deyanov, a law graduate of St. Kliment Ohridski University, began his judicial career in 2000 as a judge in Smolyan, later serving as district court chair and district prosecutor before becoming deputy appellate prosecutor in Plovdiv. He is the third candidate from the professional quota of prosecutors, joining other proposed members such as Marinelа Panova Totеva of the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor's Office. The new council is slated to commence its work in November.
