TOEB Naoussa officials visit Argolida to study smart irrigation technology

Leadership and staff from the Naoussa Irrigation Organization (TOEB Naoussa) conducted a three-day technical visit to the Iras-Kurtakiou Irrigation Organization in Argolida from August 21 to 23. The visit aimed to facilitate knowledge exchange regarding modern, rational irrigation management as Naoussa prepares to launch its own telemetry and remote control project.

During the peak irrigation period, officials observed the practical application of telemetry systems, remote control at water intakes, and the SCADA platform. These digital tools allow for continuous monitoring of pressure, supply, and operational data, enabling the immediate detection of leaks. The delegation also reviewed a system for the pre-purchase of water cubic meters, which helps members manage water rights and enhances resource efficiency.

Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, Giannis Andrianos, attended the technical discussions and informative presentations. The visit focused on how smart water intakes, activated via electronic cards, and real-time monitoring can reduce electricity consumption at pumping stations and minimize water losses, ultimately lowering operational costs for irrigation organizations.
