Toei unveils anthropomorphized character based on film logo

Toei has introduced a new character, ‘Ara nami T081’, as part of its ‘Toei Aranami Project’ branding initiative. The character is an anthropomorphized version of the company’s iconic film distribution opening sequence, which features waves crashing against reefs and the company’s triangular logo.

Designed by illustrator Ryosuke Takeuchi, known for work on the ‘Pokémon’ and ‘Monster Hunter’ series, the character features blue hair styled to resemble waves and incorporates the Toei triangular logo into her accessories and eyes. The name ‘T081’ is a numerical pun on the company name, ‘Toei’.

The character was unveiled on October 8 to commemorate ‘Toei Day’. Toei plans to expand the character’s presence through social media content, various events, and the sale of original merchandise.
