Toei Video announces 4K Blu-ray releases for Chojin Barom-1 and Chojinki Metalder

Toei Video has announced the first two titles for its ‘Toei Tokusatsu Blu-ray Project 2026,’ a fan-voted initiative to release unreleased series on Blu-ray. The selected titles are ‘Chojin Barom-1’ and ‘Chojinki Metalder.’

Both series will be released as 4K negative scan HD remastered Blu-ray BOX sets, available exclusively through the Toei Video online shop. ‘Chojin Barom-1,’ originally aired in 1972, is scheduled for release on January 13, 2027. To celebrate, a talk event and photo session featuring lead actor Hiroyuki Takano will be held on October 4 in Tokyo. A special version of the Blu-ray BOX including event tickets will be available for pre-order from August 20 to September 13.

‘Chojinki Metalder,’ part of the Metal Hero series that aired from 1987 to 1988, is set for release on March 10, 2027. Both collections are limited first-press editions and will include new booklets and special video features.
