TŞOF President warns parents against unlicensed school shuttles

Mehmet Yiğiner, President of the Drivers and Automobile Federation of Turkey (TŞOF), has issued a warning to parents regarding the use of unlicensed school shuttle services ahead of the 2026-2027 academic year.

Yiğiner emphasized that parents must ensure shuttle vehicles are properly licensed and possess all necessary permits and authorization documents. He noted that unlicensed services operate without inspection, endangering children's safety and creating unfair competition for legitimate transport workers.

Additionally, Yiğiner reminded parents that shuttle fees are regulated by local authorities, such as Municipalities or Transportation Coordination Centers (UKOME). He stated that service providers cannot charge amounts exceeding those determined by these official bodies. Parents experiencing issues with overcharging or driver conduct are encouraged to report them to relevant professional chambers or local municipalities.
