Tofaş and Opel discuss strategic cooperation and manufacturing

Tofaş CEO Cengiz Eroldu met with Opel CEO Florian Huettl and senior executives at Opel’s headquarters in Rüsselsheim, Germany, to discuss strategic cooperation and the future of the automotive sector.

The discussions focused on global industry transformation, electrification, sustainable mobility, and Opel’s long-term growth targets. A key point of the meeting was the strategic importance of the Turkish market, which serves as Opel’s third largest internal market.

The parties also reviewed Tofaş’s manufacturing role for Opel. Currently, the Tofaş factory produces the Opel Zafira, Vivaro, and Vivaro Van models. Under the K9 project, mass production of the Opel Combo is expected to begin shortly, further supporting Opel’s position in the light commercial vehicle market.
