Tofoo & Co breaks ground on new North Yorkshire factory

Tofoo & Co, the leading plant protein brand in the UK, has commenced construction on a new manufacturing facility at Malton Enterprise Park in North Yorkshire. The project aims to expand the company’s productive space by 3.5 times and double its current tofu production capacity.

The new site is expected to be completed by autumn 2027. Once operational, the facility will support the company’s goal of producing over 10,000 tonnes of tofu by 2033 and facilitate annual sales of £73M. The expansion is designed to meet rising consumer demand for natural protein sources and support the brand’s ongoing expansion into French and German markets.

In addition to increasing output, the facility will include a dedicated development kitchen and pilot plant to drive product innovation. The investment is being supported by HSBC UK and majority shareholder Comitis Capital.
