Togbe Afrika enstooled as King of Music in Penyi Hata

Musician Togbe Afrika has returned to the active music scene after more than 20 years. During a homecoming event in Penyi Hata, Volta Region, on August 29, 2026, he was formally enstooled and honored as the ‘King of Music’ by Togbe Ekle II, the Chief of Penyi Hata.

The ceremony served as a symbolic reclamation of his musical legacy. Beyond the traditional honors, the event functioned as a platform for cultural heritage and community celebration. The program included performances by emerging artists, providing a stage for new talent to perform alongside established musicians.
