Togo allocates 5.1 billion FCFA to 35 communes for local development

In Togo, the Ministry of Territorial Administration, Local Governance and Customary Affairs has signed financing agreements with 35 communes under the Municipal Financing Support Program (PAFC). The total funding amounts to 5,176,971,379 FCFA and is intended to support priority projects for local populations.

Supported by a 20 million euro donation from German financial cooperation, the PAFC covers 69 communes across the Kara, Centrale, and Plateaux regions. The funds aim to strengthen municipal capacities and finance infrastructure in sectors including education, health, markets, and socio-economic development. The selection of the 35 beneficiary communes was based on evaluations of resource management, project execution, investment relevance, and land security.
