Togo Apparels Source completes first textile shipment to the United States

Togo Apparels Source (TAS), a subsidiary of the Indian group Tas Textiles India, has completed its first shipment of textile products to the United States. The company is located within the Plateforme industrielle d’Adétikopé (PIA) in Togo.

The shipment primarily consists of t-shirts manufactured from local cotton. This move is part of a broader strategic effort to transition Togo from an exporter of raw materials to a processor of finished goods, thereby increasing local value addition and strengthening the national cotton value chain.

According to Lieutenant-Colonel Idiola Sandah, administrator general of the PIA coordination authority, the operation demonstrates the growing capacity of local units to meet international standards and access global markets. In 2025, textile companies operating on the PIA had already exported approximately 210,000 garments and textile products to the United States.
