Togo cocoa producers form new association to target international markets

Togolese cocoa producers have established a new organization, the Association des lauréats de cacao d’excellence du Togo (ALCET), to enhance their presence in international markets. Formed on October 13, 2026, in Tomégbé, the association aims to improve bean quality through specialized training in post-harvest treatment techniques.

Led by President Toulassi Kokou Messan for a three-year term, ALCET focuses on supporting farmers who meet high excellence standards. The group intends to defend the interests of cocoa growers, improve living conditions in the Plateaux region, and develop international partnerships to increase the competitiveness of Togolese cocoa.
