Togo customs agents begin light arms training under West Africa Security Project

Customs agents in Togo have begun specialized training on light and small arms as part of the second phase of the West Africa Security Project (PSAO). The training, hosted at the Office Togolais des Recettes (OTR) training institute, aims to equip agents to better secure land, maritime, and aerial borders.

Funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, the PSAO initiative focuses on combating the illicit trade of firearms, explosives, and chemical precursors used in improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The program is designed to improve customs security and supply chain controls to prevent the movement of goods used by terrorist organizations.
