Togo deploys mobile teams to facilitate national identity card registration
The Directorate General of National Documentation (DGDN) in Togo is deploying mobile teams to public gatherings to facilitate the issuance of national identity cards. This initiative aims to bring administrative services closer to the population and reduce processing times.
Currently, DGDN teams are stationed at the 14th edition of the Foire Adjafi in Lomé, an event focused on young entrepreneurs. The mobile unit allows visitors to complete the necessary steps for identity card applications on-site, bypassing the need to visit traditional administrative offices.
This strategy is part of a broader government ambition to ensure that the majority of Togolese citizens possess a national identity card by 2028. By utilizing large-scale public events, authorities hope to increase documentation coverage and simplify bureaucratic procedures for the public.
