Togo football faces uncertainty regarding professional league launch

Uncertainty surrounds the launch of Togo’s first professional football championship despite a previously announced start date of November 22, 2026. While the Togolese Football Federation (FTF) has expressed confidence that the country will not face a year without competition, officials have not provided a confirmed specific date for the new league format.

Agoro Medjesseribi, the second vice-president of the FTF, stated that preparations are ongoing to ensure the championship proceeds under its new professional structure. However, the lack of a precise timeline has led to growing questions among stakeholders regarding the visibility of the preparations and the feasibility of the upcoming deadline.
