Togo launches tender for 5,200 smart meters for CEET

The Togolese government, through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, has launched an international tender for the supply and commissioning of 5,200 smart metering devices for the Compagnie Énergie Électrique du Togo (CEET).

The contract is divided into two main components: 1,200 modems to connect medium-voltage meters to the CEET management platform, and 4,000 data concentrators for low-voltage smart meters, including associated energy meters, cables, and accessories. The delivery period is set at 240 calendar days following contract notification, followed by 180 days of related services.

This initiative is part of the CEET Revenue Protection Program and is funded by the Inclusive Development through Electricity Access (IDEA) project. The IDEA project, backed by a $200 million credit from the World Bank’s International Development Association (IDA), aims to enhance the commercial and financial performance of the utility. The deployment of smart meters serves as a key tool for improving revenue collection and is a performance indicator in the agreement between the state and the CEET.
