Togo opposition calls for aid amid rising fuel prices

In Togo, the rising cost of gasoline is causing significant concern among the population. The opposition party, Comité d’action pour le renouveau (CAR), has expressed its opposition to the recent price hikes, which are attributed to rising global oil prices and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

The CAR warns that increased fuel costs will lead to higher transportation expenses and more expensive essential goods, disproportionately affecting low-income families. To mitigate these effects, the party is proposing direct aid for vulnerable households and is planning a public meeting to protest the rising cost of living.
