Togo sets new coffee and cocoa producer prices

Togo has established producer prices for the 2026-2027 marketing season, setting coffee at CFAF 1,300 per kilogram and cocoa at CFAF 2,240 per kilogram. These measures aim to stabilize producer incomes following a significant decline in export volumes and volatility in international markets.

While export volumes for both commodities saw sharp contractions in the previous season, domestic production has shown growth. Coffee output rose by 2.5% to 30,472 tons, and cocoa production increased by 7% to 23,084 tons. The sector, which supports approximately 32,000 producers, contributes nearly 1.2% to the nation's GDP.

In Lomé, the Coffee and Cocoa Sector Coordination Committee (CCFCC) also held celebrations for International Coffee Day and World Cocoa, Chocolate and Coffee Day. These events focused on honoring producers, promoting fair trade, and supporting the ‘Drink African Coffee, Build Africa’ strategy to encourage local consumption and value-added processing.
