Toho collaborates with Dinosaur Base on Godzilla-themed school bags

Dinosaur Base, a specialty dinosaur shop operated by Yamako in Echizen City, has announced a new series of Godzilla-themed school bags (randoseru) in collaboration with Toho. Designed for children entering elementary school in 2028, the collection includes three distinct models: Godzilla, King Ghidorah, and Mechagodzilla.

The products feature specialized textures to mimic the skin, scales, and armor of the respective kaiju. The Godzilla model is matte black, King Ghidorah is gold, and Mechagodzilla is silver. Each bag includes historical imagery on the underside of the cover, such as the original 1954 Godzilla. The development process took approximately two years and involved supervision from dinosaur illustrator Keita and researcher Shoji Hayashi.

The bags are priced at 93,500 yen each. Pre-orders are scheduled to begin on January 23 via the company website and February 1 at the physical store and the Ikura Lab Yashiro location.
