Toho unveils first images for sci-fi thriller Leviathan

Goodfellas has released the first images for Leviathan, a live-action sci-fi thriller from Toho. The film is an adaptation of Shiro Kuroi’s best-selling manga and is currently in post-production.

Set in the year 2127, the story follows a group of students stranded on a spacecraft after a catastrophic accident. With oxygen levels dwindling and only one life-support unit available, the students are forced into a brutal struggle for survival against one another.

Directed by Michihito Fujii and Ryohei Shingu, the film features a screenplay by Fujii and Izumi Takahashi. The cast is led by Shunsuke Michieda and Natsuki Deguchi. Leviathan is scheduled for release in Japan on February 11, 2027. Paris-based Goodfellas is managing international sales outside of Asia and will present a promotional reel at the upcoming American Film Market (AFM).
