Tokat amateur football prepares for new Super Amateur League

The Tokat Amateur Sports Clubs Federation (ASKF) has announced a meeting for September 12, 2026, to plan the 2026-2027 football season. A key focus of this meeting is the restructuring of local football through the introduction of the Tokat Super Amateur League, which aims to increase competitiveness and provide a pathway toward the Professionalism Transition League (PGL).

In a broader context regarding amateur football in Turkey, EASKF President Sadri Atam has criticized the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) over proposed participation fees and strict club criteria. Atam noted that while the TFF initially sought high entry fees—such as 50,000 lira for the Super Amateur League—and a list of 24 stringent requirements, pressure from local associations helped reduce the criteria to four essential points. Atam expressed concern that excessive requirements could prevent many amateur clubs from participating in official leagues.
