Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University launches mobile midwifery project
Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University (TOGÜ) has launched the “Mobile Midwifery Support Model” to provide prenatal education and follow-up services to expectant mothers living in rural areas. The project, initiated by the Faculty of Health Sciences Midwifery Department, commenced its first phase in Semerci village.
The initiative aims to support the birth preparation process, reduce fear of childbirth, and improve the psychosocial adaptation of pregnant women by providing services directly in their homes. The program is designed to benefit both the community and students, offering midwifery students the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in field settings.
In addition to direct patient support, the project seeks to develop an evidence-based mobile midwifery training module, establish application protocols, and produce scientific publications to create a sustainable maternal health model.
