Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University leads 3D-printed disaster housing project
Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University is leading an international project to develop innovative, eco-friendly, and economical disaster relief housing. Supported by TÜBİTAK, the initiative utilizes large-scale 3D printers to construct both temporary and permanent shelters.
The construction process involves mixing construction debris and waste with soil and cement to create a mortar for the 3D printers. This method aims to recycle wreckage from disaster sites while accelerating the transition for victims from tents to permanent housing. The project involves a scientific collaboration of 10 experts, including researchers from Portugal, France, and various Turkish universities.
