Tokat Green Industrial Site project to serve as disaster shelter
Construction is underway for the New Generation Tokat Green Industrial Site in Tokat, Turkey, a project led by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Spanning 550 decares, the complex will feature 595 workplaces alongside education, culture, and social facilities.
Designed to modernize aging or inadequate industrial zones, the project aims to meet contemporary environmental and technological standards. AK Party Tokat Deputy Mustafa Arslan stated that the facility is being built to withstand a magnitude 9 earthquake, serving as a safe shelter during natural disasters due to its location on the North Anatolian Fault Line.
The project has a cost exceeding 10 billion Turkish Liras. Currently, reinforced concrete work is 90% complete, while steel construction is 30% finished. The site is expected to be completed and opened by the end of 2028.
