Tokat Municipality has launched a 24/7 Coordination Center powered by artificial intelligence to centralize urban management. Located at the Technical Units Workshop, the facility is designed to monitor traffic, public parks, and disaster coordination from a single point.
A primary function of the center is intelligent traffic management. By utilizing sensors at intersections to measure vehicle density and queue lengths, the system can dynamically adjust traffic light durations. This smart signaling aims to reduce city traffic congestion by 45 percent and allows for the prioritization of emergency vehicles, such as ambulances and fire trucks, by manipulating signal timing remotely.
Additionally, the center will enhance city security and maintenance by monitoring public parks through camera systems. This allows municipal teams to quickly respond to issues regarding public safety, environmental pollution, or damage to public property. The facility will also track the real-time locations and routes of municipal service vehicles, including cleaning and infrastructure crews, to ensure efficient service delivery.
