Tokat village headman sues film company over pasture damage
Önder Konuk, the headman of Günevi Village in Tokat, has initiated legal action against a film company following the production of the TRT series ‘15’liler’. Konuk alleges that the filming process caused significant damage to 515 decares of pasture land at Topçam Yaylası.
According to the allegations, the production crew dug trenches and fortifications, leaving behind substantial waste, including tires and trash. Konuk expressed concern for the village's livestock, noting that the presence of debris poses a threat to approximately 500-600 cattle and nearly 1,000 small ruminants.
Konuk reported that attempts to resolve the issue through the Provincial Special Administration, the governorate, and the provincial general assembly were unsuccessful. He claimed that when raising concerns about the allocated pasture land, he was met with responses questioning if he was ‘opposing the state’ because the film was being produced for TRT. While a previous criminal complaint resulted in a decision of non-prosecution, Konuk intends to sue the production company directly to ensure the area is restored to its original state.
